Who was Beulah Boynton?
Designing & Living in a Frank Lloyd Wright House
2:00pm EST – 3:00pm EST (EAST COAST TIME)
Special multi-media Zoom presentation performed by two actors. (well, one actor–plus you get Kim…)

Hear the intertwined stories of two girls growing up in the same Frank Lloyd Wright house 70 years apart. Rochester’s only Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home was built in 1908 for Edward E. Boynton and his 20-year-old daughter Beulah.   During its construction, the world-renowned architect was frequently on-site, supervising all details, including the design of the furniture (seventeen pieces still remain in the house).  Learn what it was like for Beulah to work with the temperamental architect.

Kim Bixler’s family owned the Edward E. Boynton House from 1977 to 1994.  Sharing family photographs, documentary footage and historical research
Kim recounts the joys and pitfalls of owning and living in a Wright-designed home.  Living with the public’s curiosity, playing hide-and-seek, coping with the habitually leaky roof and managing constant renovations were all part of the experience.
