About Kim

Kim Bixler is an author, playwright and public speaker. After publishing her latest book, Growing Up in a Frank Lloyd Wright House, she was featured in the 2012 PBS documentary Frank Lloyd Wright’s Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years as well as the Wall Street Journal, The Not Too Serious Architecture Hour and NPR’s Here & Now in conjunction with Wright’s 150th Birthday celebration. (Sadly, Mr. Wright couldn’t make it.)

In addition to her plays and musicals based on the life of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Kim has authored and edited several books – including Get a Clue: Guide to Cornell University and Ithaca, NY, 365 Great Things About Atlanta, The Cigar Book, Austin from Boston, and My Twin, My Friend – short plays, mini musicals and monologues. Learn about her recent musical midlife crisis in The Beach Reporter. Check out some of them here (musical projects CLICK LINK HERE).

Kim currently lives with her husband and children in Manhattan Beach, CA. She graduated from Cornell University in 1991 and recently graduated from NYU Tisch’s Musical Theatre Graduate Writing Program (ending her 30-year-academic-gap year). Read all about her recent adventure HERE.
