GROWING UP IN A FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT HOUSE, Excerpt:
The shower in the master bedroom had a large, round showerhead eight inches in diameter, which produced a glorious downpour. Tubing with tiny holes every 2 inches encircled a bather from shoulders to knees. When the shower backed up, we called the local plumber. He scratched his head and carefully studied the antique shower. Once his repairs were completed, my mom hopped in for a long shower only to later discover that she had flooded the foyer. Distracted, the plumber had put a hole in the pipe as he was clearing it. The towels, pots and pans came out again and the symphony of water drops played on until the plumber rushed back.
